DESCRIPTION:The Roseburg Area Chamber’s Economic Forecast 2023 program will take a look back at this year and its economic impacts on our businesses\, our county and our state. Our expert panel of presenters will explore issues\, political climate and industries having the most economic impact\, and share valuable information about expected trends to help assist members strategically plan for 2023.   Presenters will address the impacts of the statewide and national mid-term election results\, and focus on the timber/wood products industry\, real estate trends; ongoing workforce shortages and more. SUMMARY:November Membership Meeting Lunch
DESCRIPTION:Oregon’s new paid family and medical leave insurance program is about to begin.  Employers and employees will begin paying into the program on January 1\, 2023.  On September 3\, 2023\, employees can begin to apply for benefits.  What businesses are required to participate in the new program?  What are small employer responsibilities?  What is an equivalent plan?  Do employees have to participate?  These questions and more will be answered at the chamber’s November 14 membership lunch. \nPresenting about “Paid Leave Oregon” will be Phillip Hudspeth\, Outreach Program Analyst with the Oregon Employment Department.  Come get all the facts and information businesses will need before the program start date of January 1.  Advance ticket purchase is required.  Tickets are not sold at the door.  The November membership meeting lunch\, the last one of 2022\, is generously sponsored by Pacific Power.
