The Garden Valley Corridor Plan (GVCP) will identify strategies for the City to improve safety\, mobility and connectivity so the corridor better serves our community’s needs now and into the future. Our expert panel of presenters will explore the issues\, political climate and specific industries and\, share their projections and insight about what business might expect in 2025.  Presenters will also discuss potential impacts resulting from November’s general election. \nLeading our panel of presenters this year is Mark McMullen\, Vice President of Policy and Research with Common Sense Institute (CSI).  Mark brings a wealth of expertise to CSI\, having served as the longest-tenured Chief Economist for the State of Oregon under three governors. \nJoining McMullen on the panel will be Jeremy Rogers\, Director of Legal Affairs & Public Policy for the Oregon REALTORS®; Nick Smith\, Executive Director for Healthy Forests and Healthy Communities (HFHC) and\, a fourth presenter TBA. \nPrior to joining Oregon REALTORS®\, Rogers spent more than a decade working with leaders in the manufacturing\, technology\, health care and energy sectors to identify and solve public policy challenges affecting business and economic development in Oregon. Smith’s background is in public policy and communications\, having worked in the Oregon Legislature in various capacities and having served several members of leadership in the House of Representatives. The chamber confirms the attendance of Pacific Green Party candidate Justin Filip and Republican Party candidate Monique DeSpain.  Democrat incumbent Congresswoman Val Hoyle has declined due to a schedule conflict and Libertarian Party candidate Dan Bahlen has been invited\, but not confirmed. \nAttendees will hear directly from the candidates in attendance.  There will also be an opportunity to submit questions to the candidates. The chamber encourages members to come prepared with business-related\, business-relevant questions.  Also\, be prepared to write your questions down. As most of our members are aware\, the chamber will provide notecards on dining tables for attendees to submit questions for consideration. DESCRIPTION:The Roseburg Area Chamber’s April membership lunch program will feature Oregon Business & Industry president and CEO\, Angela Wilhelms.  Angela will provide a brief update of the recently-wrapped 2024 Oregon legislative session\, offer a 2024 election preview and a preview of what business might expect from the 2025 Oregon Legislature\, all with a lens on why these things matter to the statewide business conversation.  Angela is also going to be interested in hearing from our business members about whatever state policy is on their minds\, as part of OBI’s information-gathering for its 2025 Legislative Agenda development. \nChamber membership lunches are held from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm at the Douglas County fairgrounds.  Look for more details in future RACC member “Chamber News” emails. \nAdvanced ticket purchase is required.  Online ticket sales only.  Tickets are not sold at the door.  The last day to purchase tickets is April 3 at noon.
