Chamber History

The Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce (“RACC”) has a long and distinguished history of service to Roseburg and Douglas County businesses. Support of local business began in 1908 with the Roseburg Commercial Club, the forbearer to the Roseburg Chamber of Commerce, which officially organized as a chamber of commerce and became incorporated in 1932.

How the chamber has served its members and the local business community has never been static, but fluid to meet the times and the needs of business. The primary work of the Roseburg Chamber Area Chamber of Commerce has always been founded in the promotion, protection and advancement of business to create a strong local economy.

The progression of the chamber and its service to the Douglas County business community is a credit to the chamber’s understanding of the need to evolve and its ability to bring together the best professionals and volunteer resources.  Whether through professional staff, the thousands of volunteer committee and task force members or committed volunteer board leadership, the chamber’s strength has always been borne in the grassroots alliance of business leaders. It’s all about strength in numbers uniting as a common voice.

The chamber is particularly proud of the many business and community leaders that have served in the highest capacity as chairman or chairwoman of the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors. See our complete list of the amazing men and women who served as past RACC Board Chairs.

The chamber also has a history of recognizing business and community leaders for their long-time dedication to service in
