The Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce accomplishes many of its goals and objectives throughout the year utilizing the invaluable time, talents and dedication of member volunteers serving on chamber committees, council teams and task forces. 

Douglas County Hotel/Lodging Industry Council

The chamber’s hotel/lodging industry council will convene and work with lodging industry members throughout Douglas County but, particularly within the city of Roseburg to identify needs for growth and assist companies in this industry with retention and expansion efforts to help grow our local economy. The council will also be a resource to the chamber’s professional staff, Government Affairs Team and board regarding legislative and other advocacy needs on behalf of the industry (e.g. state TLT law, local TLT use). 

 

Council members must represent a hotel or other local lodging property (i.e. B&B) and be a current member of the chamber. If you are interested in serving on this council please check back and watch for “Chamber News” emails about this future council. 

Douglas County Manufacturing Industry Council

The manufacturing industry has, alongside timber, been the backbone of the Douglas County economy. The chamber is working to ensure this industry will continue to grow and prosper. The chamber’s manufacturing industry council will work with local manufacturers to identify the needs and barriers for sustainability and growth. The chamber and its council will work with local employees to assist and support their expansion endeavors to help sustain and grow our Douglas County economy.

Douglas County Retail Industry Council

The digital revolution continues to transform the landscape of how customers interact with retailers and purchase products. The chamber’s retail council will bring together and work with local retailers to identify their barriers to growth, discuss common challenges and identify ways to meet the needs of local retail businesses to foster innovation and growth for a strong local economy.

Government Affairs Team

The chamber’s government affairs team (GAT) is charged with evaluating issues, measures and legislation where the chamber has no previous or existing position. The GAT will make recommendations to the chamber board. While having no endorsement authority, the GAT is also responsible for conducting candidate interviews and making endorsement recommendations to the board of directors.

Greeters Committee

RACC greeters committee members support chamber staff serving members programs such as ribbon cuttings, grand openings, business visitations, Business After Hours as well as, welcoming and “greeting” our members at many chamber events. Greeters also assist new members in making connections with long-standing members.

Roseburg Works... Coming Soon

The chamber expects to launch a task force focused on workforce development. The task force, along with the chamber’s professional staff will work with local partners to ensure the workforce needs critical to our local businesses are met now and well in the future.
